The Sailcloth Tipi is a cone-shaped tensile structure defined by four bamboo poles and a central sailcloth canopy. Its form is both architectural and expressive, offering a lighter, more dynamic alternative to traditional event structures.

The Sailcloth Tipi can be configured across a range of event formats depending on layout and intent.

• Ceremony: up to 40 guests
• Cocktail setting: up to 30 guests
• Walking dining: up to 25 guests
• Seated dining: up to 15 guests

It is ideally suited to intimate gatherings, lounge areas, brand activations, or as a layered element within larger site designs.

Structure & Finish

The structure is formed using hand-selected bamboo poles, connected with custom metal components and supporting a tensioned sailcloth canopy.

The material palette is natural, warm, and durable. The sailcloth is designed to withstand varied weather conditions, while the bamboo frame introduces texture and visual softness.

Left minimal, the Tipi delivers a clean architectural silhouette. Styled, it becomes an immersive, atmospheric space that responds to lighting, decor, and surrounding landscape.

 

Flooring & Site Requirements

A level surface is required for installation and anchoring.

The base footprint measures approximately 5 x 5 metres, with a recommended flooring area of 6 x 5 metres where a defined platform is desired.

The structure can be installed directly onto grass or integrated into a broader flooring system depending on the overall event design.
